Halloween is a time of indulgence for children. While you may not want to take the experience of Halloween away from you children, you may want to exchange one type of treat to another healthier alternative. Besides being empty calories, the sugars and carbohydrates feed the bacteria in the mouth and encourage tooth decay. Have them brush both teeth and gums and floss especially well just before bedtime. Buy your youngster a colorful new toothbrush and include it as part of their Halloween treats. Those sugars can be ghastly on your child’s teeth.
