Meeting Inefficiency Contributes to Low Employee Morale

If there's one thing that can engender a feeling of dread in a normally happy employee, it's the prospect of another meeting on the schedule. Meetings are too often seen by employees as time wasters that are largely ineffective and accomplish little. But what if there was a facilitator or someone with facilitation skill training to make sure your next one wasn't another pointless exercise in futility? Meeting facilitation is an idea that is transforming the very way companies and their employees look at these necessary get-togethers, and companies like Facilitator4Hire are fast making them the most productive part of the work week.

How important is the issue of increasing meeting productivity, and why are a meeting facilitator and facilitation training so important? Studies have shown that the level of meeting effectiveness is the single most powerful factor in job satisfaction. Not only that, but the level of job satisfaction in Corporate America actually decreases as the amount of meetings increases. Too often meetings stray off course, and end up morphing into an exercise in talking about accomplishing something rather than actually accomplishing it. Adding a facilitator to the mix accomplishes a two-fold goal of having fewer meetings that actually accomplish more.

Facilitation training is a tool that can be tailored to either the individual who functions as a group leader or the entire group. Teaching from a core group of processes that can be customized to suit the specific needs of a corporation, teachers can transfer skills while leading an actual meeting or teach those skills in a workshop setting. Through the application of facilitation skills a team and its leader begin to understand that meetings can be less frequent, shorter in length, and far more effective and productive. As you begin to string together a series of effective meetings, the perception of meetings as morale killers is certain to fade away.

Improved management and efficiency in meetings is the end result we all desire, but it's one that won't be accomplished by returning to the same old tired script. Simply put your employees are on to you, and the more they're subjected to frequent and ineffective meetings the less likely they are to be long-term employees. With so much at stake, it's good to know that there's an easy turnaround in sight. Facilitate, and discover the meaning of meeting efficiency once and for all.
