Have you ever called in the vet only to discover that, try as they might, your vet doesn’t have a clue what’s going on? That’s often because it’s not the animal’s issue, it’s the persons, their rider’s or caretaker’s issue. OR, it’s because no one took the time to listen to the animal first so they can tell us what we need to know.
I have to tell you, I’ve worked with thousands of horses and dogs along with lot of other animals, and I will tell you that the answers you’re seeking are going to be in one of four areas:
1. Emotional issue with the animal.
2. Health issue with the animal.
3. Management issue with the animal, such as training, diet, exercise.
4. Emotional or health issue that’s going on with YOU that your animal is reacting to.
Here’s the Outcome to that story. Because you didn't take the time to communicate with your animal friend, you take them to the vet and they’ll get misdiagnosed or worse, and you’ll spend a lot of money in vet bills. And you’ll be no better off than if you hadn’t gone, and sometimes actually worse off because the real problem got missed and now your animal has even more stress to deal with.
What if the real issue is something going on in you that is causing distress in your animal? Without communicating with your animal first, you’ll take them to the vet and maybe you’ll get lucky and it will clear up anyway, but the truth was it wasn’t ever about the animal, it was a problem with you.
Did you know that vets are one of my strongest referral sources? This is the reason – much of what they are asked to resolve isn’t about the animal’s physical health at all.
Paying attention to these issues has a huge impact on your relationships. It’s important to take care of things quickly so they don’t have a chance to build, ruining your relationships and undermining the trust between you.

The worst part about it is that I see people all the time heading off on the wrong track, because they end up either misdiagnosing the problem entirely, or going way off on the wrong things. They think it’s a physical problem when it’s actually a physical problem manifested as an emotional problem.
That’s why the best thing you can possibly do is get it straight from the source by talking directly with your animal. After that, we will know where the issues are really coming from, and what needs to be done to resolve it as quickly as possible.
After you know what’s wrong, you can be very specific in resolving things. Communicating with them through an illness, to resolve a behavior challenge, or all during your show season, will make a huge difference in their ability to feel heard, acknowledged, and respected.

Giving them a voice makes all the difference in the world in deepening your relationships with your animals.
Animal communicators are trained and gifted in bridging the communication gap between you and your animal friend. You can also learn how to communicate yourself. There are clues that you can watch out for that will give you a better idea of what your animals are thinking and feeling. Learning to communicate with your loved ones is a not as difficult as you may think. There are resources available that make this task much easier. Your animal communicator can help you by directing you to available resources and most likely he or she will have created their own learning models that will help you move forward in learning to speak with your animal friends in a way that will have them clearly understanding you. Wouldn’t it be great if you asked your animal friends how they feel that they could actually tell you and you could understand them? That can be a reality for you!
