L V’s Beautiful Wedding Venues Near Cambria on the California Coast

Your wedding is one of the most important events in your life and the wedding venue you choose for your ceremony and reception is one of the most important decisions you’ll make regarding your wedding.

A winery, a beach, a vineyard, a ballroom, a Victorian home, or ? Wedding venues can be found just about everywhere now with wineries and vineyards being the most popular. Ceremonies are sometimes done at the same site as the reception; often the ceremony will be held outdoors at one venue, then move (but on the same property) so the reception is done inside. Many ceremonies are still done in churches and the receptions are being held just about anywhere.

In this article I’ll mention a few beautiful wedding venues near Cambria on the beautiful central California Coast. This part of California’s coast is spectacular – a bit quieter than the Carmel/Monterey area but just as beautiful. I’ve enjoyed many weekends in the area and can vividly remember many of the shops, restaurants and other places in the beautiful area. And, there are many, many unique places nearby to hold your wedding ceremony and reception.

The first beautiful wedding venue is the Brambles Dinner House where I’ve enjoyed a meal or two. This restaurant has won many awards including Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence, and the Golden Fork Award. The current owners have been serving meals at Brambles for twenty years but the restaurant itself has been in business for almost 50 years. The building was first built as a home and is over 125 years old. A lovely patio is available for your reception when the weather is nice and indoors there are several different sized rooms for your wedding reception. I especially like the room (it doesn’t seem to have a specific name) with an old brick fireplace along one wall and large chandeliers – it would make a very elegant, formal wedding reception venue. Some of their smaller rooms would be ideal for a rehearsal dinner, bridal luncheon or a small, intimate reception. Their staff will provide an excellent menu whether you’re looking for a lunch or dinner meal for your wedding reception. (Visit bramblesdinnerhouse.com for details.)

The Old Santa Rose Chapel, perched on a hilltop in a forest of oak and pine trees, is a great location for your ceremony. This adorable white wood church is ideal for a romantic wedding. The chapel is located on Main Street in the East Village neighborhood of Cambria. It’s over 135 years old and after the San Luis Obispo and San Miguel Missions, it is the old church in the county. It held its last Catholic mass in 1963 and now serves as a non-denominational site. Indoors, it has lovingly restored statuary, lustrous wood and gleaming while walls all offering an intimate setting, while outdoors the tall trees offer a calm and serene setting. (Please visit santarosachapel.com for more information.)

The next beautiful wedding venue is the Cambria Pines Lodge, situated on 25+ wooded acres. Their outside areas are available for your ceremony, and several different options are available for an indoor or outdoor reception. In their Gazebo Garden, you’ll walk down a stepping-stone aisle to say your wedding vows under a white gazebo in front of 50-seated guests. Evening weddings might start with a ceremony in the Gazebo, continue with a reception in the Peacock Room, seating up to 250 guests, and end with dancing under little twinkling lights adorning all the ficus trees. Smaller wedding ceremonies can be performed outdoors in a traditional Victorian garden, the White Garden, designed with white flowering plants and bushes. This setting can hold about 40 guests and has a white wood arbor that is ideal for pictures. The Treetop and Sycamore Rooms are perfect for a smaller reception following the White Garden ceremony. The resort’s catering staff will work with you to come up with a suitable menu for your reception. However, they do not provide a tasting of chosen banquet menu selections. Each of the different venues have varying rules where dancing and if DJ can perform – their staff will help you make the best choice for your wedding. They will provide the cocktails, either hosted or a cash bar, but you may bring in your own wine and pay a corkage fee. You’ll need to hire vendors for the flowers, wedding cake and similar items. You and your wedding guests will have a wide selection of accommodations ranging from rustic cabins to elegant hotel suites. They will hold a block of rooms for group reservations up to 30 days prior to your wedding date. Your guests can enjoy the restaurant, lounge, pool, spa and garden before leaving the property to enjoy a multitude of activities nearby. (Check out cambriapineslodge.com for additional information)

Many of these wedding venues book up very quickly, sometimes 18 to 24 months in advance. Please be sure to reserve your site as early as possible.

There are many more beautiful wedding venues in the Cambria area. These are just a few places to help you get started in looking at the various sites in this part of the California coast.
